Non-members welcome. LGBTIQ+ Inclusive event
All-inclusive. Everyone is welcome. Check with the Walk Leader if you’d like to bring your dog. Dogs are not allowed in National Parks.
Trail information:
This month it’s a picnic and swim with the option of a short walk.
This will be about the warmest time for a swim in the creek, and not too hot for a walk.
We did this short walk last year and followed the walk with a 4x4 drive up to Bangalore Falls. February and March on the mid north coast of NSW being a bit warm and humid, this will be a short drive from the meeting point (details below) of 1.5 km to the Bindarray picnic area. There is a small creek crossing halfway, so probably best suited to 4x4 vehicles.
Date: 10/03/23 (the second Friday in March)
Time: 10:00am
Car pooling: Let's meet at the old Catholic Club on West High Street in Coffs Harbour at 9:30 AM for our departure to the walk location, from there.
Getting there:
Head west on West High Street/ Coramba Road until you reach Karangi just past the cemetery. Turn left onto Upper Orara Road and continue for 6.2 km until you reach the Dairyville Hall on your right hand side at the intersection of Upper Orara Road and Dairyville Road. Turn right onto Dairyville Road and continue for 8.0 km to the end of the road. Sealed all the way except for the last 100 (approx.) metres.
Picnic after the walk:
After exploring the walking track and surrounding rainforest, there are some fantastic swimming holes and rapids for those who fancy a dip.
Bring a picnic lunch which we can have at the picnic tables before returning to our original meeting point. Perhaps a few camp chairs as well, if you have them.
