Top Five QLD Dog Beaches

In Australia, we love our dogs and this week, we bring you the top 5 dog beaches in Queensland. Woof!

There’s nothing like getting out with your best furry mate and walking or running down the beach. Just remember, the rules for whether dogs are allowed on the beach vary across Australia. There is no blanket rule for whether dogs are allowed on a beach that applies right across Australia. The local council sets the regulations for whether dogs are allowed on a specific beach.

Dogs not only love running, but they also love swimming! Some dog breeds may prefer to dip their paws in, but others love to dive in deep.  FACT: Swimming can also be a great way for older dogs to exercise as it is a lower impact than running.

NORTH SHORE. Bordered by the beautiful Maroochy River and surf beach on the southern tip of Mudjimba, this wide slice of wild sandy paradise is one of the best-kept secret off-leash beaches perfect for dogs.

SUNSHINE BEACH. One of the best dog beaches on the Sunshine Coast is located on the south side of Noosa National park. This stretch of surf beach is protected with plenty of room for dogs of all sizes to run freely.

PALM BEACH. Nestled in the southern Gold Coast is an off-leash beach with the wow factor. Here, dogs can chase the stick on the adjacent surf beach or paddle to their heart’s content in stunning Currumbin Creek.

TALLEBUDGERA. Situated at the north of the Palm Beach surf lifesaving club, this long stretch of surf beach has plenty of digging and running options and the opportunity to hike all the way to Bongaree. This is truly worth a day trip to Bribie Island.

BUDDINA. Adjacent to the Sunshine Coast’s best dog park, Buddina is a protected tract of sand surf and rock pools and a family-friendly surf beach where your pups can let their fur down.
