ACON, NSW’s leading health organisation for LGBTQ communities, has welcomed the NSW Government’s response to the Special Commission of Inquiry into LGBTIQ Hate Crimes.

In its announcement, the NSW Government said it supports all 19 of the inquiry’s public recommendations.

Implementation of some of these recommendations have already been completed. Action on other recommendations is underway or will be implemented following further planning or technological advances.

Teens accused of gay 'hate crimes' after men lured to location and attacked, appear in Perth court

2Four teenage boys have been accused of "hate crimes" as part of an alleged catfishing scheme using dating app Grindr to lure gay men to a location before attacking them with various weapons including crowbars.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, appeared in court on Thursday and were remanded in custody until their next court appearances.

Late on Thursday afternoon, police revealed they had charged a further two other boys, aged 16 and 17 with a series of offences relating to the incidents.
